IncroMax
IncroMax is a range of additives that has been specially developed to enhance performance in engineering polymers, delivering easier processability, improved mould release and scratch resistance in many applications.
The IncroMax additives for polymer processing are created to provide these effects whilst not effecting performance or clarity of the product. Dosing the IncroMax range into the polymer system is straight forward; the range can be added via masterbatch or directly to moulding or extrusion processes, and some products within this range are also available as highly loaded concentrates in various carrier polymers to enable easier dosing.
Why are our IncroMax additives needed?
Many engineering polymers, such as styrenics, polyesters and polyamides, have a tendency for high surface friction and poor mould release properties that make them difficult to process. Therefore, additives are needed to aid with processability to decrease surface friction and mould release force.
The IncroMax range of additives has been specially developed for engineering polymers and offer the following benefits:
- Reduced friction and easier processing
- Improved packing and de-nesting of moulded parts
- Fewer rejected parts and less waste
- Improved appearance of the end product
- Reduced energy consumption
Each product in the IncroMax range offers various benefits in different polymers. Examples include:
- PET
- Polycarbonate
- Polystyrene

IncroMax 100 for PET processing
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a polyester commonly used in packaging application due to its clarity, strength and lightweight properties. PET is increasingly used in more challenging applications, and the inclusion of IncroMax 100 can improve the processing and end use properties to give superior PET.
Key benefits:
- Decreased surface friction and mould release force by up to 60%
- Increased packing density of preforms by up to 25%
- Improved packing and processing of moulded parts
- Flow promotion of PET during processing
- Reduced scratch & scuff and enhanced surface quality
- Easier processing & reduced manufacturing noise
- No adverse effect on the physical properties of PET
- Energy required for extrusion reduced resulting in cost saving
IncroMax 100 is also suitable for use in Polycarbonate (PC) and Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) where food approval is required. This grade also provides processing improvement and mould release in bio-based polymers such as Polylactic acid (PLA), where low shrinkage of the polymer can typically cause more issues in injection moulded parts.
IncroMax 300 for polycarbonate processing
Designed specifically for polycarbonate, IncroMax 300 is a friction reduction additive for easier processing when extruding and moulding PC. This product is exclusively for non-food contact applications where compromise in clarity and performance is not an option.
Key benefits:
- Offers a lower coefficient of friction in extrusion during and after production
- Aids with quick de-moulding of complex parts without build up or residue left on part or mould
- No compromise in clarity and performance
- Available as Atmer 7650, a 50% concentrate for easier processing
IncroMax PS for polystyrene processing
Polystyrene injection moulded parts can demonstrate high friction which can result in processing problems, rejects and waste, manufacturing noise and scratching on the finished part. IncroMax PS, for use in polystyrene, work to decrease surface friction and mould release force, leading to a number of product and efficiency improvements. This product has been specifically developed as a friction reduction additive for use in high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and general purpose polystyrene (GPPS). IncroMax PS can also provide anti-scratch performance in acrylic polymers such as PMMA
Key benefits:
- Decreased surface friction and mould release force by up to 40%
- Improved packing and de-nesting of moulded parts
- Reduced scratch and scuff and enhanced surface quality
- Fewer rejected parts and less waste
- Easier processing and reduced manufacturing noise
- No adverse effects on the physical properties of polystyrene
- Colour and clarity is maintained over the lifetime of the polymer
